Wise, very wise. This book resonates with me and rings very true. I am always grateful when wounded healers share their journeys and what they have learned. It's a generous act and it helps to light the way for others who are on a spiritual path of recovery. Some of the specific things that she shared helped me (very recently) to be of more genuine, non-codependent, loving support for a loved one going through a difficult time. Her stories also serve as validation for my own journey of recovery in some areas where I still had doubts about whether I was doing things "right." They were right for me, I realize, even though I was off the "beaten path."It really is all about self-compassion, self-understanding and doing the necessary work of connecting with and nurturing ones's parts of self, especially when the "work" looks to others as though I am doing nothing. I will be purchasing another copy of this to give to someone because I don't want to part with my copy.

This book is targeted towards women. I think it is one of the best self esteem raising books I have ever read. If you had an abusive childhood, and especially an unloving, perfectionist mother, this book is for you. I got it because I found that I was being so mean to myself all of the time for being ill when I can't help it. The way it is written, one paragraph helps you think. It is OK to grieve, to be depressed, to have PTSD, and to be human. Highly recommend.

The material and stories in this book are beautiful and rivetting, rich in wisdom andcompassion, at once healing and exciting. I think this book will fill you with the hopeof having the life you were born to live and the life you've dreamedof, because this book is about our souls and hearts; about peace, gladness, and freedom.

unbelievably helpful in my process of becoming my own loving mama. i consider her a mentor now in how to be a fiercely loving mama to all my parts. i have been letting my closest ones know how much this book means to me. i carry it in my satchel with me a lot of days, just for strength, comfort and the reminder that i can be so very gentle with myself and truly take care of sorely neglected parts of me. i highly recommend this book for any who are wishing to be more of a loving advocate, mama/papa to themselves. amazing. her website, forthelittleonesinside.com is great too...where i found this book. all the best in your process of loving yourself.

This may be one of the first books or even the first time this beautiful thinking has been introduced to me. So often we hear quips of going faster, being more productive, getting more accomplished. And for what? As one who worshipped the glorification of busy most of my life, I've now landed in my mid-fifties with Chronic Fatigue and a host of other maladaptive conditions.Robyn has set us free and given us permission to jump off the merry-go-round and possible saving our lives in the process. As I read through her book, I kept saying WOW, over and over hoping that this vital information would stick. Hats off to you for giving us such a gem of a book and a glimpse into yourself. I read and re-read this book to help me continue learning to embrace and cherish all of myself. I'm so grateful for this voice of compassion and kindness that I can keep turning to as I practice self-love and self-acceptance.

Rather than power over others where power is a limited commodity, Robyn speaks of power as self-empowerment; there is room for those around us to be empowered as well. Rarely does a book invite me to keep to the path of self-compassion quite as this book does. The style of writing is wonderful for beckoning the reader enter that sometimes quite painful inquiry of past, present and future. I have suffered with BPD practically forever but now with this book and a few others as well as good therapeutic support I feel encouraged and energized.
