I bought this booking hoping it would help me navigate the elimination diet process. If I could give this zero stars, I would. To begin, the grammar in this book is atrocious. The number of missing words is mind blowing. There are numerous blank pages in the book (so it's not as long as advertised). The author spends more time explaining CPR than he does explaining the actual process of doing an elimination diet. This book's formatting leaves so much to be desired. It feels as if the author wrote this book in a different language using a program such as Word, then poorly translated it to English, and passed it off as a legitimately helpful book. Most of the book is written in bullet point formatting. The author doesn't even get to the process of the elimination diet until chapter nine and only spends one chapter on the process. What limited ingredients are listed include things like milkfish and bamboo shoots. This was a complete waste of money. Without any source citing, coupled with the poor grammar and some questionable information in the book, how can anyone be sure the information is true or accurate? Bottom line is, don't waste your precious time or money on this piece of garbage. I'm sending this back for a refund (because Amazon is amazing like that), this book is absolutely worthless.
WOW! I couldn't be happier with this book, I don't believe. I know there are things in my current diet that have been causing me issues and I have been eliminating and finding out what is causing the issues. This book is awesome for helping to teach you exactly how to go about finding the foods that you are allergic to and eliminating them from your diet, thus helping you to be healthier and feel better. The book even includes a recipe section and a menu guide as well. And the recipes are easy to use and delicious ways to help you be healthier and live life fuller.
I've been thinking of starting an elimination diet to determine what foods trigger my IBS and which ones I can tolerate. I really appreciated how the author approaches the topic and helps you prepare yourself mentally and physically for the experiment. It helped me figure out which things I need to avoid to have a happier, less inflamed life. The writing is clear and engaging, and the tools and tips are fantastic!
I have a friend that has a lot of food allergy problems, and after reading this book I suggested to her that she should read it. She told me reading this book was life-changing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is caring for children or if you have any foods that you might think affect your health in a negative way.(heartburn, gas, ect.)
A friend of mine actually recommended this book to me as I'm a lifetime sufferer of allergies and have to take Benadryl year round. I'm so excited to try the methods laid out in this book and see how my body responds. This book is very well written, with the right balance of details and simplicity. I highly recommend this book to any fellow allergy sufferers or to any who may have heard of the elimination diet but unsure of exactly what it is and if it's right for them.
This is a very helpful book. It has very sound advice and alternative food selections and sample menus I never thought of. I'm definitely going to give this diet a fair try!L :)
I had an irritable bowel problem for the better part of my adult life and that thing sucks. So hard.But, I managed to get it under control with some therapy and diet adjustments. This book is helping me right know to kick things further and develop my diet so I can live like a normal human being again.I like the approach of this book, the strategy for eliminating potentially harmful food is very common sense, but it is much easier to follow it with a guide like this. It is a very short book, but it has all the information I need to make some adjustments to my lifestyle. It is easy to read, understand and all you need is willpower to stick with the plan. I recommend doing so.
More of a pamphlet or guide - all of these points can be easily found in articles on the web. These are more general guidelines, save your money if you're looking for something more specific with detailed information on foods to purchase, etc.
