I agree with just about everything that Dr. Hasib puts forth in his book on cybersecurity leadership. When most think of cybersecurity thoughts tend to trend towards security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web security appliances, etc. While the latter is certainly an important aspect of a cybersecurity program they are only part of what we hope to be an effective cybersecurity program. Dr. Hasib rightly asserts the cybersecurity must become part of an organizational culture that is inculcated on a consistent basis. Moreover cybersecurity leaders must understand an organizations culture and business that a cybersecurity program is designed to support. We cannot be effective leaders without understanding an organization’s mission, core competencies, financials, and competitors and using this information to design and implement cybersecurity architecture that complements and enables an organization for success.The one area where I would differ with Dr. Hasib is the reporting structure of CIO and CISO. Here I would go one step further and move the CISO from under the CIO and have him or her become a direct report to the CEO. The very nature of cybersecurity mandates that it touch just about all areas of an organization to include its information technology departments. There is potential for conflict between a CIO and CISO if the CISO is a direct report to the CIO. Although we have evolved from the IT department as cybersecurity professionals we are also aware of the significant amount of power and influence IT professionals have at their fingertips. Thus the IS (information security) department should become its own entity so it has the ability to further scrutinize the same department from which it originated.In closing Dr. Hasib’s book on cybersecurity leadership is one of those you should add to your library in our pursuit of excellence on this topic of cybersecurity.

This amazing masterpiece is more than just a technical book on Cyber-Security as it clearly lays out how to look at Cyber Security from a leadership viewpoint.I grew-up a datacenter engineer and have dealt with every technology related to virtualization much before the name of "Cloud & Cyber Security" could have come to people's thought However, this book has developed a distinctly different perspective for me. Therefore, Execs and senior industry leaders can use this book as a guide to help drive their organizations towards sustainability while coping-up with technological advancement.I have both the versions of Cyber-Security Leadership, Audible as well as Kindle and I truly enjoy combining listening & then connecting his words while reading that on my kindle app. I like to gain knowledge from many audiobooks during my commutes and this one is by far one of my favorites.Well actually, the audible version of this is a continuous play in my car during my daily commute. The book also outlines practical advice on navigating college administrations -- something I didn't figure out until Junior year. Perfect reading for the summer before entering college.

I just recently started making felted bags and had only one pattern, on which I was making modifications already, to get something different. This book not only has lots of great patterns but also has lots of ideas for handles, fasteners, buttons, hooks, etc. etc. that go to make a great bag. It's not in the book, but something else in here even gave me a great idea for a backpack!

I am new to felting and this book has great instructions and designs. They knit up fast and my only problem is buying the yarn fast enough! Everyone will get these for Christmas next year since I like making them so well!Marsha in Fla. and Tenn.

I was looking for specific bag shapes not so much the actual pattern in the piece. I found some of her resources helpful for purse handles. I can use 5 or 6 of the patterns out of the book. If a book gives me that much help I consider it a success.

The book certainly has some ideas in it, but the work instructions are sometimes not so clear and it wojuld help to see a drawing of the shape you are supposed to get out of instructions.

I love to make felted bags. This book was a great price and I could not find it any place around my home. It has alot of great patterns. I have made several bags from it.

Instructions were all for knitting. I was looking for crochet. Beautiful pictures. It is a good book regardless.

These patterns are not for the novice knitter nor are they particularly suitable for a knitter's first felting project. I have not made any of these purses but with forty years of knitting experience and after having read through several of the patterns, these purses require a fair amount of detail work and finishing. Also, it may be a problem finding the hardware (purse clips, grommets, etc.) in order to finish the purse. There are some interesting shapes and designs for those knitters who want a bit of a challenge.

I love Aileen's books but wasn't sure I would like this one since it's sci-fi and not PNR or UF. But idk why I was so skeptical, I love sci-fi and I loved this book! It's got alot of action and the story will keep you wanting more.

I loved this book. It was exciting and was not predictable. The female lead was strong and never gave up. I can not wait for the next installment!

Amazing! Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I'd stop to eat or take care of the inevitable interruptions of life, but my mind was still in the story. It was so well written that I truly felt like I was there with Maite. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Set in a future where giant corporation SpaceTech pretty much controls all of the human colonies across the universe this is the story of Maité, a half-human half-aunare young woman who is just trying to live her life in peace. SpaceTech have been trying to start a war with the aunare race for years, starting 10 years ago with the massacre of all aunare people living on planets they controlled, now they'll stop at nothing to destroy an entire species just to keep their control over humanity.Maité and her mother have been hiding on earth for 10 years hoping that her father, who is a powerful general in the aunare army, will find them and help them get to safety. If Maité is discovered by SpaceTech then it will be a death sentence but it's getting harder and harder to live under the radar. She is so close to freedom when she makes a dreadful mistake, one that could cost her everything. After her arrest she is sentenced to a work detail on a dangerous volcanic planet, every day she comes a little closer to death and if her father's representatives don't get to her in time to save her then war will be inevitable.I thought Off Planet was a brilliant start to this new series, I've not read anything by Aileen Erin before but after enjoying this so much I think I definitely need to check out some of her backlist. I really liked Maité's character, her aunare blood makes her stronger and faster than most but that's almost more of a curse than a blessing as she's constantly having to try to hide her abilities so that people don't figure out who or what she really is. Her life has been tough but she has a strong bond with her mother and some close friends who are always there for her and even though she's constantly in danger she always tries to help others too.This is only the first book in the series but we've already met some really interesting characters both human and alien that I want to spend more time with. Roan is like a best friend and brother rolled into one, Declan was sent to save her but to be honest hasn't been all that great at doing the job, she made some interesting allies on Abaddon but I think the person I'm most curious about is Lorne, the aunare who will stop at nothing to rescue her even if that does mean starting a war that could end up killing billions. One thing I'm really hoping is that we're not going to see the formation of a dreaded love triangle though, there were hints that it might end up going in that direction but I really hope the author surprises me and doesn't take the easy drama route.The world that the author has created is an interesting one, I was fascinated and horrified by the conditions on the volcanic planet so appropriately called Abaddon and I'm really looking forward to finding out more about the aunare home world too. I'm a bit curious about why this is being marketed as YA, Maité is 20 and her friends are all her age or a fair bit older and although the story is appropriate for teens (there's no sex, I didn't notice much in the way of swearing and even when Maité is being tortured it doesn't go into super graphic detail) I would still class this as an adult sci-fi because of the age of the characters and the themes it covers. Maité doesn't think or act like a teenage narrator so the YA label is misleading in my opinion. That really is a minor issue as I think the story will be enjoyed by both teens and adults but I do think it's important to clarify these things correctly. I've already added the next book, Off Balance, to my wish list but it's going to feel like a long wait until it's release next year!

This is one of the most exciting reads I've seen this year, and I can't wait to dive into book two.SpaceTech controls most things on the planet, and powerful as they are, they are at constant odds with the Aunare —an alien culture who leads Earth in many areas. SpaceTech has fought this by killing all Aunarians on the planet. Maite, the daughter of the leader of the Aunarian and part human, has been hiding on Earth ever since the first wave of genocide with her mother, living in constant fear of being discovered, while working at a diner and teaching martial arts in the evenings. When a strange man appears at her apartment and claims to have been searching for her for thirteen years in cooperation with her father, she's not sure whether to be happy or flee. Just before the extraction can happen to meet with her father again, the head of SpaceTech tricks her into committing a so-called crime, and the horror begins.From the very first page, this story grabbed me in. Maite's plight draws at the heartstrings, especially when it becomes clear that she's doing the best she can...not being stupid...and yet, manages to fight against the corruption and help in her own small way. She's a great fighter but not unbeatable. She walks a tight balance, and it's wonderful to see a character who isn't a complete fool and handles logic, mistakes and troubles with a pretty natural and believable feel.There are many side characters, but each one holds their own purpose and personality. The author reveals enough backstory to make each character leave an impression while still holding many questions to be answered in the rest of the series. But this is the same as far as Maite is concerned. Her memory has been wiped for very good reasons, and this leaves a wonderful fog for lots of interesting twists and turns to come.While the first chapters sink into Maite's life and start to give the impression that the story might be slow, the impression is completely incorrect. The tale builds and gains on pacing, not only exposing more and more layers of intrigue but also growing in character depth and tension—harsh, at times—with every passing page. This is even true on the romance end. There are so many hints at what might become a triangle or other interests, but that is not the main thrust of this story, and even this side remains very open for much more in the books to come.The world building is very well done. The first chapters are very familiar and allow the reader to first gain a connection to Maite before heading off into the stronger science fiction elements. These are built with care and seep in mostly with logic and careful pacing. The one or two stumbles on explanations are easily forgiven and didn't bother the story in the slightest. Science fiction fans definitely get their thrill as the chapters deepen, and the tech and alien possibilities expand in exciting ways.This is a great begin to a very promising science fiction series, and I'm looking forward to see where the adventure goes next.I received a complimentary copy through Netgalley and was so thrilled by how good this story was that I'm more than willing to leave my thoughts.

Much of the book can be germane to you having to set up a network in a workplace.A lot of the book's value is in how Ivens plainly and simply explains the problems and their fixes. In very nontechnical terms that make it clear what you can do to resolve the problems.

But anyway, I have one.It's working at the moment.The reason it's working is because I bought this book. The data comes in on a DSL line into a D-Link router. I usually write things like IP address, login name, password, etc. on a slip of paper and tape it to the bottom of the device. I have a good memory, but short, and this helps.No login name oe password on the router. I picked up this book, and on page 28 there the annoyance -- Getting to the router. Here she gives the IP address of the router (and those of Belkin, Linksys, and Netgear) as well as the default user names and passwords.Fixing just one problem like this makes this book well worth while. And reading the rest of the book (fast to read because you only look at the annoyance and skip the answer if it doesn't apply to your problem of the moment) gave me several better understandings of some of the problems that I've faced before.This is a beginning to intermediate level book on home networking. It's a lot more than just annoyances.

It would be easy to think of a whole variety of things as networking, web clients, email, ftp. This book works at a lower level than that, debugging routers, internet connectivity, file sharing, and the basics. Though the basics can be difficult. If I could fault the book it would be that the exposition for some of the recipes are a little too short. Simply introducing a solution as opposed to walking through it at a reasonable depth. That being said, sometimes sign posts are as valuable as step-by-step maps.

To quote a friend of mine "This book has the wrong name. Instead of being called "Home Networking Annoyances," the name of the book should be "Why Windows Is Hard To Network." Yes, this book does talk all about home networking, but it only mentions Windows operating systems." Any one using any other operating system should not waste their time or money. It is unfortunate that the author is so narrow in her view as the topic is of considerable interest to many users of computers other than those operating under Windows.
